Captain Alexandra Holmes

Captain Alexandra Holmes began her career in Law Enforcement with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2002 and has a proven track record of working in various roles. She was assigned to the Department of Law Enforcement, serving as a road patrol deputy in the City of North Lauderdale. She advanced to serve as a property crimes and a special victim’s unit Detective. In 2013, she was promoted to Sergeant where she has worked as a Road Patrol Supervisor in the South Broward District (Pembroke Park/West Park), an Investigator in the Division of Internal Affairs, and an Operational Supervisor in the Civil Division. In January of 2019, she was promoted to Lieutenant where she served in the role of Executive Officer in the Civil Division, Tamarac District, and the Division of Internal Affairs. Most recently, in April 2023 she was promoted to the rank of Captain to serve as the District Chief in the West Park District.

Outside of BSO, Captain Holmes proudly served in the Army – National Guard as a Medical Specialist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Supervision and Management with a concentration in Public Administration, an Associate of Arts degree in Business, is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute - Command Officers Development Course and has completed the FBI-Leeda Trilogy coursework.
